The call for proposals for the Veszprém–Balaton European Region of Sport 2026 is now available
The planned calls for proposals for the Veszprém-Balaton European Region of Sport 2026 program have been published and are now available for review, so that everyone can familiarize themselves with the application process before it opens in the first half of January.
The next few weeks will give everyone the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the conditions of the applications, consider which creative ideas related to movement they would like to implement, and compile the documents required for submission, so that the actual submission of applications can proceed smoothly in January.
Several grant schemes will be available as part of the Veszprém-Balaton European Region of Sport 2026 program, but they all have one thing in common: they primarily support ideas that encourage as many people as possible to engage in enjoyable physical activity and show that expensive infrastructure or a competitive sports background are not necessarily required for sports and an active lifestyle.
The supported activities focus on community experiences, promoting healthy lifestyles, and strengthening local initiatives, whether they be recreational sporting events, community exercise programs, awareness-raising campaigns, or innovative new approaches.
Applications will be accepted in four categories
- "VitálPont": project ideas from small settlements that specifically target the development of settlements with lower population densities to prepare programs that provide opportunities for year-round activities.
- "Active Communities": calls for proposals focusing on the development of active communities, through which the program supports events based on forms of exercise that do not take up the entire calendar year but are suitable for getting many people moving at the same time;
- "Opportunities in Sport": support for inclusive projects where people with health and special needs are not separated, but share the joy of movement together.
- "Movement Together – Regional Community Celebration": a track designed for walking centers whose primary goal is to involve as many people as possible in the joy of public exercise, and thereby convey the message of the European Year of Sport 2026 program series to the general public.
Sustainability appendices
Promoting awareness of sustainability - the Hungarian Association of Event Organizers and Service Providers - Sustainable Event Organization: the theoretical and practical parts of the guide, the checklist, and the code of conduct form an appendix to the call for proposals. With the help of these appendices, you can think over the most important sustainability aspects that are recommended for every event, during its implementation, and at its conclusion.
