Overview

Anna Varsányi’s monodrama commemorates the love story of the two Mexican painters, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, with plenty of humor, humanity, and music. Excerpt from the play: “She’s still asleep. She’s snoring terribly, but she looks so beautiful with her hair spilling across the pillow. At times like this, you can’t see her wide-open eyes, which are turned in different directions; only her beautiful, sparsely clustered eyelashes. When she’s awake, she looks just like an overweight leaf beetle.

Cast:

Frida Kahlo: Melinda Lukács, winner of the Katalin Karády Award
