We warmly welcome all interested parties to the 2026 Ju-Jitsu Hungarian Championship event, where the country's most talented athletes will compete in an exciting, sporting, and spectacular day of competition. The fights in different age groups and categories offer a great opportunity to experience the diversity of ju-jitsu techniques the preparedness of the competitors, and the true values of the sport up close.

The event is family-friendly, well-organized, and offers an enjoyable program for all age groups. If you want to spend a day in an inspiring, energetic sports environment where perseverance, discipline, and respect are at the center, then the dojo is the place for you.

Participation requirements and registration information – Hungarian Ju-Jitsu Championship 2026

Required documents Every competitor must have:

• a national sports card (Budo Pass),

• a valid sports medical certificate,

• a competition license issued for 2026.

Personal data and documents will be checked on the day of the competition, during registration and weighing in the sports hall. The validity of competition licenses will be checked centrally after the entries have been received. Failure to meet the requirements will result in automatic withdrawal.

Eligibility to enter

Only competitors who are members of the Hungarian Sport Ju-Jitsu Federation may submit entries.

We ask member organizations to settle their 2026 membership fees at the same time as submitting their entries, if possible.

Registrations may only be submitted in writing to the association by the club.

Categories

Any athlete who meets the "eligibility" requirements may enter the competition.

Hungarian Champion title

The Hungarian Champion title can be won by competitors who:

• compete in the appropriate category,

• and qualifies for international competitions in this category by August 31, 2026.

Beginner category

The beginner category is for athletes who have been competing for no more than 24 months.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals can be won in this category, but the title of Hungarian Champion cannot be won.

Age groups

Weight classes

The official JJIF weight categories apply in the competition.

The organizer reserves the right to combine categories in case of low participation, in accordance with JJIF regulations.

Entry fees

Fees are per competition (Fighting, Ne-Waza GI/NOGI, Duo, Show).

The Duo category counts as one entry and must be paid for as a pair.

The entry fees of athletes who do not show up are non-refundable.

Registration

Registration is only possible online, via the Smoothcomp platform.

Entries submitted for the December competition have been automatically transferred, but clubs may modify them.

Entries received after the deadline will be rejected by the organizer.

On-site registration is not possible.

Registration schedule

• January 1-20, 2026: online registration

• January 22: registration closes

• January 23: pairing and grouping coordination

• January 24: invoices sent out

• January 28: Checking the receipt of transfers

• January 31: Registration and weigh-in between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. at the sports hall

Competition schedule

• 7:00 a.m. – Sports hall opens, IT system starts up

• 8:00–9:00 a.m. – Registration (arranged by the club manager)

• 8:00–9:00 a.m. – Weigh-in (only after registration)

• 9:30 – Ceremonial opening, teams line up

• 10:00 a.m. – Start of competitions

Equipment

All competitors must have:

• A white Gi that complies with JJIF rules,

• protective equipment in good condition and of the appropriate color.                                                                                                                                                                                

Fighting category:

• a mouthguard is mandatory,

• a groin guard recommended,

• a chest protector strongly recommended for female competitors.

Responsibility

The Hungarian Sport Ju-Jitsu Federation accepts no responsibility for injuries, damage, or losses incurred during the competition or travel.or losses incurred during the competition or travel.

Coaches and team leaders are responsible for ensuring that their competitors are physically and mentally fit to participate.

Advertising

Advertisements placed on the Gi must comply with JJEU/JJIF regulations.

Other benefits of the Hungarian Championship

The 1st-3rd place in the Hungarian Championship:

• entitles the winner to participate in international competitions until August 31, 2026,

• may contribute to the formation of the Hungarian national team,

• may mean extra admission points at certain universities,

• can be counted as extra points for university students,

• provides an opportunity to apply for the

"Hungary's Best Student, Best Athlete" and

"Hungary's Talent" awards.
