Nia was founded in 1983. Its founders were Debbie and Carlos Rosas, who had enjoyed successful careers in the aerobics industry. Inspired by this, they decided they wanted to create an alternative method for moving the body, conditioning, and healing that unites the body, soul, and spirit. They began their research and thus created Nia, which comprises 9 forms of movement and 52 basic movements.
The classes are taught by Krisztina Gyenesei, who discovered Nia in 2010 and has never grown tired of it since.
"In the movement set to fantastic music, I found strength and dynamism, as well as feminine, soft, and delicate movements.
In addition to my certifications as an aerobics and swimming instructor, I completed the Nia White Belt training in 2014, followed by courses in dynamic yoga and preventive spinal training. I am also constantly training myself in dance movements. In my classes, I incorporate what I’ve learned from many years of belly dance and contemporary dance, as well as from the BalettBody and ArtMotion training programs.
My motto:
Dance with us, and we’ll take flight :-)"
The advertized events are free to attend.
The sessions are being held as part of the VitalPoint (SP26/VTP-2026) grant program.
