Money and power, love and death – a dense, eventful evening on stage. A Jókai-premiere, with romantic elements.

Overview

🎭 To mark the 200th anniversary of Mór Jókai's birth, a stage adaptation of his novel Poor Rich People has been created. The adaptation condenses the world of the novel into an "adventure play" framework, using the dramaturgical tools of romanticism.

πŸ’₯ The exciting plot and twists and turns of the story are spectacular, theatrical gestures guide us through the tension of desire and consequence. Romantic pathos is accompanied by boisterous humor, playful irony, and memorable characters. The emphasis remains on adventure and the weight of human decisions.

πŸ“š The aim of the anniversary performance is to present the characteristic themes of the original work—power and emotion, secrets and revelations— in the language of contemporary theater.
