The thematic walks organized by the Archdiocese of Veszprém lead visitors through the renovated ecclesiastical spaces of Veszprém Castle.
A walk through Baroque elegance and medieval charm: it leads to the rooms of the Archbishop's Palace designed by Jakab Fellner and to one of the oldest chapels in the city.
Program overview
Starting from the Biró-Giczey House, visitors can explore theArchbishop's Palace and the Gizella Chapel, where a thousand years of faith and art meet.
Participation information
Departures: Saturday–Sunday 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Only a limited number of people can take part in the weekend walks. Tickets and information are available at the on-site gift shop on site.
Tours can only be visited with a valid admission ticket.
Themed guided tours in the Veszprém Castle District are subject to the following conditions of participation:
- Visits are possible by prior appointment or depending on the number of places available. Comfortable, sporty clothing and closed shoes are required. Everyone participates at their own risk.
- Only those over the age of 14 may apply for guided tours. Children between the ages of 14 and 18 may only participate if accompanied by an adult and with a signed parental consent form..
- Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
St. Michael's Cathedral can be viewed without purchasing a ticket, however, visiting hours and guided tours may be affected by Masses and other liturgical events, so please take this into account. The vestibule of the Cathedral is open to visitors during opening hours for and is open to anyone for spiritual reflection and prayer.
