Introduction
Balatonakarattya is a village on the northeastern shore of Lake Balaton, with historical roots dating back to the Árpád era. The area was once home to several villages and got its name from the royal will that settled court officials here. From the 18th century onward, the settlement appeared under various forms of ownership before eventually becoming an independent municipality. The panoramic view of Lake Balaton from the loess plateau is one of the most beautiful in the region.
Location & Accessibility
The village is located along Route 71 and the Budapest–Székesfehérvár–Tapolca railway line. The train station is about a 5–10 minute walk from the central areas. Several bus stops within the village connect it to neighboring settlements via regional routes.
