Balatonfüred Athletics Club

Balatonfűred Athletics Association was established in 2019 as the legal successor to the “Futóbarátok” (Running Friends) group, which had operated within the recreational sports division of the Balatonfűred Football Association. The association’s goal is to promote various areas of athletics, nurture talent, and provide opportunities for sports and competition for all age groups. They place special emphasis on training and education, preserving athletic traditions, and involving students in public education in learning about the sport. The club has achieved significant results in recent years: among other things, it became the country’s most successful club at the 2022 Hungarian Ultra Running Championship, with its athletes finishing in first place with a total of 100 points. The BAC’s female athletes also performed excellently, including Marietta Ignác and Krisztina Megyeri. The community is active, constantly organizing training sessions, race preparations, events, and end-of-year club gatherings, which further strengthen the sense of belonging.
