Hungarian House of Sport – The central home of Hungarian sports

Hungarian House of Sport is one of Budapest's most important sports administration and sports communication centers. The building is located in the 14th district, at the intersection of Istvánmezei Road and Dózsa György Road, in the vicinity of Puskás Arena and the densely built-up Olympic Park with its sports facilities. The aim of the facility is to provide a worthy, modern and efficient environment for Hungarian sports management, sports associations and sports science institutions.

Historical overview

The establishment of the Hungarian House of Sport was part of the long-term development efforts of Hungarian sports administration. The goal was to create a center where:

• sports associations could operate in a unified, modern infrastructure,

• institutions of sports science, sports methodology, and sports diplomacy are located in one place,

• administrative and professional work related to sports will become more efficient.

The building has also undergone subsequent expansion: it has modern, economically efficient office sections, flexibly configurable spaces, recreational areas, and state-of-the-art service functions. During the expansion, the designers placed great emphasis on ensuring that the new building fit in with the architectural character of the surrounding sports facilities.
