Introduction
Kislőd, located in a valley surrounded by the beech forests of the Bakony Hills, still preserves its German national traditions and local artifacts related to the Catholic religion. The history of the settlement dates back to the Árpád era, and its borders were once crossed by a Roman military road. It was depopulated during the Turkish occupation, but German craftsmen settled there in the 18th century, hence the community started to gain strength. Its church is complemented by a Baroque altar and a rich collection of ecclesial history. The surrounding forests offer hunting opportunities, hiking trails, and a recreation park (Sobri Jóska Adventure Park).
Location & Accessibility
Kislőd is located along Main Route 8, between Városlőd and Ajkarendek, with a parking lot near the center to help you stop. The currently inactive part of the railway line 20 (Budapest–Szombathely) crosses the municipality border, and its railway station is shared with Városlőd. It can be reached by bus, primarily from Veszprém and Ajka.
