Introduction

Veszprém Bunker Museum is a former MÁV civil defense bunker that was built during the Cold War for defensive purposes. Located deep within a hill next to the train station, the bunker is a gas-tight shelter built to accommodate 300 people, equipped with an air filtration system and a generator, in use until 1990. The museum, which has been open to visitors since 2017, features spectacular replicas, operational equipment, and guided tours to illustrate how the bunker operated and the civil defense system of the time.

Directions

The bunker is located near Veszprém railroad station, at 34 Jutasi Road. You can enter the building through the blue gate on the hillside. The site is easily accessible on foot from the train station, as well as by car, thanks to nearby parking lots. We recommend wearing layers and bringing a flashlight during your visit.
