Introduction
Nagyvázsony is one of the most distinctive settlements in the Balaton Uplands, where medieval heritage and modern community life coexist. At the heart of the settlement stands the famous Kinizsi Castle, which offers a glimpse into medieval life.
The list of built attractions is completed by the ruins of the Pauline monastery, St. Stephen's Church, the Post Museum, and Schumacher House, while the cultural offerings are complemented by local museums and exhibition venues, as well as seasonal programs.
The surrounding forests and hills offer opportunities for hiking and cycling, and the restaurant offers both traditional and lighter bistro cuisine. The town welcomes visitors with family-friendly events throughout the year.
Location & Accessibility
Nagyvázsony is located along Route 77, which connects Veszprém and Tapolca. It can also be reached by turning north from Route 71 at Zánka. By public transport, you can get here with regional buses, which typically connect Nagyvázsony with Tapolca, Ajka, Veszprém, and Zánka, but it is also served by long-distance routes, allowing direct access to Budapest, for example.
