The Neoclassical building that borders the northern side of Körmend’s main square was constructed between 1828 and 1835 to house the officials of the Batthyány entail estate—stewards, chief accountants, financial officers, attorneys, pharmacists, and engineers.

A detention facility once operated in its rear courtyard.
