Near the town, the river—on which several watermills operated— was regulated in the mid-19th century. Rába Riverbank attracts visitors not only with its natural beauty, but also as a starting point for water tours and a place to go swimming in the summer. A notable event in the life of the town is the annual water carnival on August 19, accompanied by fireworks.
