Visitor Center of Shipping History of and Look-out Tower Balatonföldvár

The Visitor Center of Shipping History of and Look-out Tower in Balatonföldvár is a unique, ship-shaped building, which houses an interactive exhibition presenting the world of sailing and boating on Lake Balaton. The building's observation tower is the highest man-made viewpoint on Lake Balaton, making the panoramic view a highlight of the visit.

It operates a conference room, a group playroom, and a cinema suitable for 3D screenings, and welcomes guests with their dogs. In windy weather, the tower is closed when a level II storm warning is in effect, but the exhibition hall, café and the panoramic terrace remain open at discounted prices. The outdoor playground welcomes children during the visitor center's opening hours.

It is located at the western end of Balatonföldvár, not far from the shore, and is easily recognizable from a distance. Parking is available nearby. If arriving by public transport, the "Balatonföldvár, Szépkilátó" bus stop is just a few steps away, and the train station is about a 25-30 minute walk away.

The building is completely barrier-free, and its opening hours vary depending on the season. It is usually open from 10 a.m. until around sunset, except during the off-season when it is closed on Mondays and certain public holidays.
